There are so many places I want to go. So many different towns and cities and multiple different countries. But as everything costs money, I won't be going anywhere any time soon. That doesn't stop me from dreaming however.
As Australia is so big, there are many places I would like to visit. One place is North Queensland - I have been up there once when I was a young kid, but that was about 15 years ago now. So I don't really remember a whole lot. Plus, I have a friend (who I met through Tumblr) who lives up there who I would quite like to see if I got the chance.
Another place I would like to go is a little seaside town called Yamba. I have been there twice with my old high school show band - we went on tour for a couple of days and did a few performances at schools around that area. Both times I went there, we got up at 5am each day to walk up and down a steep hill and down to the beach to watch the sunrise. Absolute perfection.
I would like to travel down to southern New South Wales where I have another friend who lives down that way, who I originally met on Tumblr and would quite like to meet in person and hang out. She lives in a quaint little town that I've passed through a few times many many years ago, but never really took much notice of. I would quite like for at least one of these adventures, if not two, to be a road trip with at least one friend, if not more. Perhaps going up north I would fly, seeing as it would be a few days drive and screw driving for that long.
In terms of going overseas, there are lots of places I would like to visit. The country at the top of my list is New Zealand. I would love to go over with at least one friend (or girlfriend), hire a car or a camper van and drive around ourselves. I'm not sure which island I would go to - perhaps both if we had enough time. If we had a car, then we would of course have to stay in hotels, which would be quite nice. However, if we had a camper van, then we could stop at any little town and just stay the night. The only problem with a camper van might be if there was somewhere we couldn't go because it was too big, but I can't imagine that would be many places, if any. We could just take our time driving around the countryside, rather than going on a tour and having to leave at a certain time each morning or during the day, if at an attraction.
I would quite like to go back to America. I've been there before, 10 years ago now! Hard to believe. But my family and I drove around for three weeks, doing a loop - starting at LA, going to Disneyland and Hollywood, then making our way through Death Valley, around to the Grand Canyon, then Las Vegas! Then drove to Yosemite National Park, around to San Diego and Universal Studios! Then down to San Francisco and back down to LA. We of course stopped at other places along the way, but they were the main attractions. So I would like to go back to some of those places. I would also like to go over the East Coast and see New York! Oh and also down to Florida, to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!
Probably my second most wanted place to visit would be England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. I have yet another friend I met on Tumblr who lives in Scotland - Chloe. As I've mentioned in an earlier post, she's the person who inspired me to create this blog. She writes about some wonderful things and writes very well! You can check out her blog here!! But from the photos she's posted up on her blog and also on facebook, Scotland looks like a very pretty country. I've also seen lots of photos of Ireland from my parents - as they visited there this year - and it too looks incredibly pretty and green! England of course has lots to see and do - probably the thing I want to do most is go on a tour of all the Harry Potter film locations. That would be pretty sweet. And also, OF COURSE, go to the Studio Backlot, where Privet Drive, Diagon Alley and the Great Hall are! That would be super cool to see. I would also very much like to go to Oxford, where my sister worked a few years back for almost a year at a pub. It would be great to see the esteemed Oxford University I've heard so much about! I'd like to experience what London is like, go in one of the famous black taxis, see Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, the London Bridge, maybe even Wembley Stadium if I was lucky! I also have relatives who live over there, although perhaps by the time I get over there they may not be around any more. They're getting quite old.
I would love to also go over to Europe, to France - go up the amazing Eiffel Tower, walk around the Louvre and see all the amazing artwork. My parents went over to some of the World War 1 battlefields, as we had two relatives who fought over there. So that would be quite nice to see, however emotional it may be. I'd like to go to the Netherlands and Germany and Norway - my sister's boyfriend is from Norway, so I'd love to go there, see where he used to live and go up north so I could see the Northern Lights! That's one of my top things on my bucket list. That would be absolutely incredible if I did.
As you can see, there are so many places I want to go. So where is your ultimate travel destination??
